Stage 2: Determine Acceptable Evidence.


Performance Task (Summary in G.R.A.S.P.S. form): (T)
Goal: Be able to identify similarities and differences between our government's structure and another country's governmental structure.
Role: You are a CIA operative who must infiltrate another country, discover how their government functions and what is the structure of the government.
Audience: I am the president of America, the class is my top advisors.
Situation: You are attending a top secret meeting with the president and his top advisors at the White House. You are there to present your findings so the president and advisors can determine how best to organize their plan of attack to take over the other government.
Product/Presentation: You will be expected to create a video diary of your trip and present it to the president. The video will cover the differences and similarities between the country that you explored on you trip and America.
Standards (criteria from both rubrics): Your video is expected to be the presentation so it needs to be clear and cover the necessary information from the list on the rubric. It will be judged separately on the requirements of the technology component and the presentation of the information. The information being presented must be was accurate and clear, cite certain number of sources, hit the key ideas as stated in the rubric, and be of a certain time limit. The video must be a good example of a technology project, have an overall attractiveness of the project, have clean mechanics and editing, and be an original and unique piece of work.

• Visual Aids. Their video will be an example of what they have learned .
• Pre presentation quiz. This quiz will be to understand how much they understand about their country. It will be short answers.
• Presentation Quiz. Each student will be asked to create a question from their presentation to ask the class during the presentation quiz at the conclusion of the presentations. Students will have taken notes through the presentations and can use the notes on the quiz. The teacher will also be taking the test. If the teacher and a majority of the class does not know the answer then that question will be dropped from the test. Each presenter will create a question.
Student Self-Assessment and Reflection
Self-Assessment (SA)
• Blog. They will be required to complete blog 3 blog entries about how the research is going/what they have learned so far, information about putting the project together and a conclusion blog after the completion of the project.
• KWL chart: for students to record what they know, what they want to learn, ans then what they learned once the lesson is over.
• Self-Grade Rubric - Students will assess their own work based on the same rubric as the instructor.

You are a American CIA operative. You have been invited to a secret meeting in the White House with the President of the United States and his/her top advisors. This group Is trying to determine the best way to take over different countries but first need background information on these countries.. You have just returned from a secret mission to another country where you needed to discover the differences and similarities of that country and the United States. You kept a video diary which shows your travels and describes what you discovered. You will be expected to present this video to teach the president and advisors about the country you visited. You will be scored on the information from the video, how creative the video was, how long the video is, what sources you discovered, and how attractive it it.
